Blotto and the Boys with the Leica SL3-S

I teamed up with Leica Camera during the 2025 winter to photograph backcountry and resort snowboarding using their newest flagship product, the SL3-S. Our goal was documenting my daily processes of capturing action snowboarding and surrounding lifestyle with professional snowboarders in numerous environments, both day and night.
We set our sights on Northern California, arriving to springtime conditions to meet up with Jussi Oksanen, Danny Davis, and Nate Haust, knowing this would be a fun crew to hike around with looking for spots and photo opportunities. Snow quality and ambient temperatures were perfect, so we got to work building and riding from sunrise to sunset, while catching the night shred at Woodward Tahoe.
The SL3-S is an absolute beauty with smooth ergonomics, a full frame 24mp file size, up to 30 fps, and of course a fast and precise autofocus system. It was no problem going about my daily routine in the pursuit of beautiful photographs using this camera system, mission accomplished! I captured these images with the Vario-Elmarit-SL 24-70 F/2.8 & APO-Vario-Elmarit-SL 90-280 F/2.8-4 lenses.
